Now that’s funny
By Steve Sebelius
Yes, we know we’re late to the party on state Treasurer Kate Marshall’s wonderfully wicked news release on finding unclaimed property owned by the state of Nevada, but we just could not let it pass by without saying something. Apparently, there’s about $118,000 in unclaimed property that belongs to various government agencies just sitting around. [...]

Study hall
By Steve Sebelius

OK, [...]

We got a news release Tuesday from the Nevada Republican Assembly Caucus, announcing the group would start a podcast. We decided to check it out, since podcasting is all the rage among the young people these days. Now, we’ve got to say up front, this podcast is a new thing for the Assembly Republicans, who [...]

The five are California, Oregon, Washington, New Mexico and Arizona. Most have Democrats in the state house, or in [...]

Gundown at the Nugget corral
By David McKee
The New Year didn’t start off with such a bang for some Golden Nugget employees in Las Vegas. Not long after the empty bubbly bottles were discarded and the confetti was cleaned up, the Glitter Gulch resort did some housecleaning of its own. Rick Spurlock, the slot operations manager for the resort for the last four [...]

A walk in the park
By Janet Murphy
Nothing like a vacation to sabotage your diet. I recently returned from a trip to London. While I didn’t try to eat everything in sight, I didn’t refuse to taste the local cuisine (read: "chips," better known to us as french fries). And I was known to quaff a pint or two at the area pubs. [...]
