MCI Shareholders OK Verizon Purchase

"MCI Inc. shareholders voted overwhelmingly Thursday to approve an $8.4 billion acquisition by Verizon Communications Inc., despite some lingering shareholder resentment over the company's rejection of a higher bid," reports The Associated Press.
