That's Entertainment!

Day four put the "show" in fashion show. Check out highlights from the two most entertaining catwalks to hit L.A. Fashion Week thus far.

Young girls walked the runway to a loud applause at Lilikoi

THE GREEN INITIATIVE HUMANITARIAN FASHION SHOW
Kiddie Corner:
Throw little girls on stage with glammed out hair and struts that could shame Naomi Campbell and you have the loudest applause Smashbox Studios has heard since the week got started. The young girls modeling Lilikoi were so adorable they could make Jennifer Aniston want to procreate.

Break it Up: There's no better way to break up the monotony of a runway walk than to break dance each of your poses and moonwalk your exit. The male models for M the Movement had audience members standing up from their seats to take in their moves. I haven't witnessed a single outfit during Fashion Week that has garnered the same excitement.

All the Tricks: All in all, the six eco-friendly designers featured brought in a violinist, ballet performers, hula girls, Chinese dancers and congas. The fireworks and midgets couldn't make it through security.

Bamboozled: If the overflowing goodie bags with everything from organic mocha drinks to hangers made of 100 percent recycled paper weren't enough, attendees were asked to pick up one of the bamboo plants that lined the runway before leaving. So, I guess the show was all that and a plant of bamboo?

Use your ear plugs for the Elmer Ave. show.

ELMER AVE.
Making the Band:
When you arrive for a fashion show and a pair of ear plugs greet you at your seat, you know it ain't your grandma's fashion show. The first two models walked the runway, then took their posts on opposite sides of the models' entrance, one behind a drum set, the other strapped with an electric guitar. Cue the ear plugs.

Slow Mo: The male models walked slowly to the end of the runway, with the kind of expressions that would be followed by a record scratch, crying women and a lot of violence if it were a movie. Them were fightin' expressions.

Dude Looks Like a Lady: Eyes smokier than the Bandit himself and glued in hair extensions? No wonder they were pissed.

EXTRA TID BITS
Last Call: When the open bar sets up shop around 4:30 p.m. each day, the cocktail menu features some concoctions mixed special for L.A. Fashion Week. For the fashion reporters, stylists and buyers you have the fashionista, a blue drink that consists of vodka, Rose's Cocktail Infusions and 7Up. And, for the celebrities, models and a few of the designers you've got the diva, a fuchsia mixture of vodka, Rose's Cocktail Infusions and club soda.

One Response to “That's Entertainment!”

My daughter has just been accepted by a modelling agency. After being ripped off by another 'so called' modelling agency previously who just charged a load of money and then disappreared, it was good to get to this stage without being charged anything. Hopefully she'll get a few shoots shortly.
