The County Commission has announced that it will consider a moratorium on sales of mobile home parks for new development.

The information is on our Web site. Take a look.

This doesn’t sound like a great idea. It might ease some immediate problems for the residents of mobile home parks but it will create all kinds of legal tangles if a big project or profit is wiped out because of the moratorium.

It’s not eminent domain but it’s making the park owners pay for the problem no one has solved. Or while the commission is studying the problem, it gives the owners an big incentive to close their properties quickly to avoid the moratorium.
