Beware of litigious lovers

Hell hath no fury live a suitor scorned, which is making the matchmaking business pretty tough, reports the Los Angeles Times.

A dissatisfied customer has sued and won a suit against a high-end matchmaker in Beverly Hills. The customer was promised dates with men earning at least $1 million a year and worth at least $20 million. Apparently, that was not who she got.

But hope springs eternal and the customer was persuaded to upgrade her membership (for another $50,000) to the Billionaire class, where she was guaranteed dates with men worth at least $50 million. There's some fuzzy math there calling those guys "billionaires" but again the customer was unhappy. And so she sued.

You've got to feel sorry for the jury who had to choose between a woman wanting pre-screened dates with millionaires and a woman who offered that service. Whatever happened to love? The jury wanted to multiply the $2 million verdict by 10 but didn't want the extra money to go to the unhappy customer. The judge told them they couldn't just give it away to charity, so they only awarded the plaintiff $2 million.
